The BBC reports that Google is banning the advertising of essay writing services and related products. It’s estimated that up to 12,000 essays are being sold to students annually, a practice most universities consider cheating.
Google currently bans ads for the following types of products:
* products for passing drug tests
* alcohol
* ads which promote violence or discrimination
* automated ad clicking
* bulk marketing (i.e. email spam)
* certain drugs and drug paraphernalia
* counterfeit designer goods
* data entry affiliate programs
* dialers
* fake documents
* fireworks
* gambling
* hacking & cracking sites
* miracle cures
* proper names
* prostitution
* radar jammers
* scams
* sex
* some forms of fund raising
* tobacco
* weapons
